10/10/2016 - Grand Theft

On October 10, 2016, Sioux Falls Police responded to the 100 block of North Phillips Avenue for a grand theft.  Unknown suspect(s) made entry into a building that is currently being remodeled. The investigation showed the suspect(s) broke into the HVAC system and stole numerous parts. The estimated valued of damage and loss is $23,000.  SFPD #2016-81639.

10/6/2016 - Burglary

On October 6, 2016, Sioux Falls Police responded to the 3700 block of East Benson Road for a burglary.  Employees of the business came to work and found the glass front doors shattered. The investigation showed the suspect made entry into the business through the shattered front doors and stole the donation jar.  The subject was described as possibly being a white male, average build, wearing a dark colored hooded sweatshirt and jeans.  The estimated valued of damage and loss is $2,000.  SFPD #2016-80408.

9/29/2016 - Grand Theft

On September 29, 2016, Sioux Falls Police responded to a bar in the 1000 block of West 18th Street for a larceny.  The owner reported that a male subject came into the bar and entered the office while the employee working was distracted. While in the office the subject stole approximately $4800 in cash.  The subject was described as possibly being a white male, thin build, bald, wearing glasses, and approximately 30 years old.  SFPD #2016-77911

9/22/2016 - Robbery

On September 19, 2016, Sioux Falls Police responded to a gas station in the 5100 block of N. Cliff Avenue for a robbery that had just occurred.  The gas station employee reported that a male subject had entered the store, approached the counter and demanded money from the register.  The subject displayed a wooden club and struck the cash register with it.  The subject was described as possibly being Middle Eastern with a dark complexion, approximately 30 years old, 5’5”, and 170 lbs. The subject was wearing a long sleeve shirt, tan pants and was carrying a backpack.    SFPD CC#2016-00075573

9/15/2016 - Commercial Burglary

On September 12th, 2016 Sioux Falls Police responded to a commercial burglary in the 1100 block of South Minnesota Avenue.  On scene, officers discovered unknown suspect(s) had forced entry into the business through a window.  Once inside, the suspect(s) stole electronic recording equipment and computer items.  The total value of the loss is estimated to be over $30,000.    SFPD # 2016-73448.

9/8/2016 - Video Lottery Fraud

Between the dates of September 4-6, 2016, Sioux Falls Police responded to four reports of video lottery fraud.  On scene, officers learned that an unknown suspect had forged video lottery tickets and cashed them at the casinos.  These four incidents occurred in the 4600 block of East Arrowhead Parkway, 900 block of South Cliff Avenue, 1000 block of South Cliff Avenue, and 4800 block of West 12th Street.  The suspect is described as an African American male, 6’4 and skinny, with a small goatee in each of these incidents.  The total value of the loss is estimated to be $2500.    SFPD # 2016-71481, 2016-71176, 2016-71632, and 2016-71510.

9/1/2016 - Residential Burglary

On August 28th, 2016, Sioux Falls Police responded to a residential burglary in the 2000 block of East 33rd Street North.  On scene, officers discovered unknown suspect(s) had forced entry into the residence through a window.  Once inside, the suspect(s) ransacked the home and stole numerous electronic items.  The total value of the loss is estimated to be over $2500.   SFPD # 2016-68970.

8/25/2016 - Bicycle Theft

On August 15, 2016, Sioux Falls Police responded to a larceny in the 3800 block of South Westport Avenue.  An individual with a disability rode her three wheel bicycle to the bowling alley and parked it outside.  When she came outside after bowling, an unknown suspect(s) had stolen her bicycle.  The three wheel bicycle is blue, has a basket between the rear tires, and has three gears.  SFPD # 2016-64321.

8/18/2016 - Aggravated Assault/Stolen Vehicle

On August 15, 2016, Sioux Falls Police responded to an aggravated assault/stolen vehicle in the 1900 block of East Rice Street.  The victim found a male suspect in the laundry room of the apartment complex breaking into the coin operated laundry machines.  When the victim confronted the suspect about the theft, he pushed the victim.  The suspect then pulled a handgun from his waistband and pointed it at the victim. The suspect exited the apartment complex and got onto a previously reported stolen motorcycle and fled the scene.  The suspect was wearing a motorcycle helmet during this incident.  A photograph of the suspect is attached.  SFPD # 2016-64804.

8/11/2016 - Assault

On August 1, 2016, Sioux Falls Police responded to an assault in the 3400 block of South Gateway Boulevard.  The victim was walking home when he was encountered by a group of people.  The group of people started yelling at the victim and approached him in an aggressive manner.  They then started to assault the victim.  During the assault the victim was knocked unconscious.  The victim received numerous lacerations and a fractured orbital socket.  SFPD # 2016-60312.
