6/16/2016 - Residential Burglary

On June 11th, 2016, Sioux Falls Police responded to a residence in the 6200 block of W. Oscar Howe Circle for a burglary.  One of the residents who was sleeping, advised she was awakened by an unknown male standing in her bedroom.  The suspect, described as a white male, 18-19 years of age, 6 feet tall, and short dark hair, fled the residence when confronted.  A male resident gave chase and observed a second suspect sitting in a black Pontiac sedan which was parked running in front of the residence.  The second suspect, described as a white male, 18-19 years of age, and short dark hair, fled the scene in his vehicle before officers arrived.   The investigation revealed that the suspect forced entry into the residence through a screen.  SFPD # 2016-43536.

6/9/2016 - Burglary

On May 28, 2016, Sioux Falls Police responded to the 700 Block of South Kiwanis Avenue for a burglary.  Unknown suspect(s) had attempted to pry open the rolling door that covers the opening at the concession stand.  When this was unsuccessful, the suspect(s) pried open the locked entrance door.  Once inside the building, the suspect(s) stole several electronics and consumable goods.  The estimated damage to the building and theft of the items is approximately $6,000.

6/2/2016 - Strong-Arm Robbery

On May 26, 2016, Sioux Falls Police responded to the 4100 block of West 41 Street for a robbery.  A female was in the parking lot loading her shopping bags into her car when she was approached by two male suspects.  One of the male suspects put his arm around her neck and placed her into a chokehold.  The male pulled the female victim out of her car.  The second male suspect stole the female’s purse.  The male suspects got into a two door white truck.  One male suspect was described as a dark complected male, possibly African American or Hispanic, late teens to early 20’s, with black curly hair.  He was wearing lighter colored jeans and a t-shirt with gray, red, and white markings.

5/26/2016 - Casino Robbery

On May 19, 2016, Sioux Falls Police responded to the 3700 block of South Grange Avenue for a casino robbery.  The clerk said the female suspect entered the casino and walked over to the counter.  The female suspect reached in her purse, pulled out a knife, and said “give me all your money”.  The female suspect received an undetermined amount of money and forced the clerk to lay down in the office.  The female suspect was described as a light skinned Native American female, 45-50 years of age, 5’5, and 120 pounds.  The female suspect was wearing a long sleeve button up denim shirt, black athletic pants with white stripes, and a blue and black baseball hat.  SFPD # 2016-36466.

5/19/2016 - Residential Burglary

On May 17th, 2016, Minnehaha County Deputies responded to a residential burglary in the 46000 block of 264th Street in Minnehaha County.  Unknown suspect(s) gained entry into the residence by forcing entry through a door.  Once inside the residence, the suspect(s) damaged the residence and stole cash, jewelry, and firearms.  The total value of loss is estimated to be over $50000.  MCSO CC# 16-06540.

5/12/2016 - Vandalisms

On May 9, 2016, Sioux Falls Police starting receiving multiple reports of windows being shot out with a BB gun.  Officers took over 100 reports where victims had their windows shot out.  The incidents took place predominantly on the east side of Sioux Falls.  The total damage was estimated to be in excess of $32,000.

5/5/2016 - Construction Site Vandalism

On May 2, 2016, Sioux Falls Police responded to a construction site in the area of Maple Street and Marion Road for a vandalism to heavy construction equipment.  Officers located a flatbed truck, a large utility truck, and a front end loader that had been tipped over.  The suspect(s) had used a backhoe loader to tip over these pieces of equipment.  The backhoe loader had also been used to destroy the cab of the flatbed truck and the large utility truck.  The damage to the equipment was estimated to be in excess of $100,000.

4/28/2016 - Car Vandalisms

On April 22, 2016, Sioux Falls Police responded to a car dealership in the 1400 block of West 12th Street for multiple car vandalisms.  The owner of the car dealership arrived to work and noticed that 21 vehicles on his lot had been vandalized.  The damage to the vehicles consisted of multiple dents, broken head and taillights, and numerous scratches.  Several of the vehicles also had windows shot with a BB gun.  The damage done to the vehicles was estimated to be in excess of $20,000.  SFPD CC# 2016-28558.

4/21/2016 - Robbery

On April 17, 2016, Sioux Falls Police responded to a convenience store in the 3400 block of North Cliff Avenue for a robbery.  The clerk was in the back room when two suspects entered the store.  One of the suspects was armed with a handgun.  The clerk was confronted by the two suspects demanding money.  The armed suspect pointed the gun at the clerk and then fired a round into a shelving area next to the clerk, striking numerous merchandise items.  The suspects were described as a male, 5’7-5’9, 160-180 pounds, wearing a skull design mask, jeans, a black sweatshirt, black hat, and was armed with a silver/black semi-automatic handgun.  The other suspect was described as male, approximately 5’5”, 130/150lbs, wearing a cloth mask/bandana, khaki pants, grey hoodie and black t-shirt over the hoodie.

4/10/2016 - Robbery

On April 10, 2016, Sioux Falls Police responded to a hotel in the 4100 block of West Shirley Place for a robbery.  The hotel employee was in the pool area when a man entered the lobby.  The man had his face covered with a dark hooded sweatshirt and black bandana.  He walked behind the counter and tried to open the register but was unsuccessful.  The suspect was described as a white man, 20-30 years of age, 5’10-6’3, and weighed approximately 200 pounds.  SFPD CC# 2016-24916.
